Who is Nutrifiz wheatgrass suitable for?
Nutrifiz is suitable for adults and children over 12 years. If you are looking to boost your nutritional intake, increase your energy levels, an athlete or sportsperson looking to replenish electrolytes, older and looking to protect your body’s cells from harmful free radicals or simply struggling to get a balanced diet full of nutrition, Nutrifiz is for you.
NB Nutrifiz contains iron, which if taken in excess may be harmful to young children. It also contains Vitamin A so is not recommended for women who are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or breast-feeding, except on the advice of a doctor or antenatal clinic. Wheatgrass is also high in vitamin K so if you are on warfarin, you should completely avoid taking Nutrifiz.
How much water should I add when making up my Nutrifiz Wheatgrass drink?
One tablet should be dissolved in a 200ml glass of water daily to make a refreshing drink. You can however add more water if you wish, to dilute to taste.
What time of the day should I take Nutrifiz?
Nutrifiz wheatgrass can be taken at any time of day but we recommend it in the morning to help your energy levels throughout the day.
Alternatively, many of our customers who work in an office environment have recommended taking it mid- to late-afternoon to help with that afternoon lull.
Wheatgrass and Cancer
Whilst there is much anecdotal evidence to support wheatgrass as an “anti-cancer” superfood, we at Nutrifiz believe there is no substitute for keeping your body in optimal condition to ensure you have everything you need to fight against illness and disease.
Wheatgrass contains many plant-based nutrients which have been associated with fighting against cancer but we would never recommend it as a either a treatment or a cure. Wheatgrass is packed with nourishment for your body. Vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, zinc, copper and selenium contribute to the normal function of the immune system. This makes Nutrifiz the perfect addition to your daily routine to ensure you are getting all the essential vitamins and minerals you need.
Additionally, there have been several clinical studies done on wheatgrass in relation to cancer. One in particular relates to a group of patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Published in 2007 in Nutrition and Cancer, researchers found that patients receiving a daily serving of wheatgrass juice during the first three cycles of chemotherapy experienced a significant improvement to their immune systems to counteract the negative effects of the chemotherapy.
In another study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, researchers examined the effects of wheatgrass juice on 348 terminally ill cancer patients at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Research Institute in India. They found that the patients’ overall health performance increased from 50 percent to 70 percent. Patients also showed a reduced need for drugs to help boost their white blood cell production.
Once again, these findings may or may not be true of larger numbers of people but what we do know is that the healthier you are, the better equipped you are to fight against sickness and disease.
Is wheatgrass good for you?
Wheatgrass is one of nature’s most potent and nourishing superfoods, full of essential vitamins and minerals as well as phytonutrients such as chlorophyll. If you sometimes struggle to eat a balanced diet or are always on the go, Nutrifiz is the perfect wheatgrass supplement. It’s great for boosting energy, maintaining a healthy immune system, and is full of antioxidants.
How much wheatgrass extract is in Nutrifiz?
Each Nutrifiz Wheatgrass tablet contains 125mg extract of a typical 3g daily serving of organically-sourced wheatgrass.
The wheatgrass extract is produced using a low-temperature spray-drying process directly from pressed juice so as not to lose any of the nutritional properties and retain all the goodness of wheatgrass.
How does Nutrifiz compare to fresh wheatgrass?
With a full complement of essential vitamins, minerals and plant-based nutrients, wheatgrass is one of nature’s most abundant sources of nourishment for your body. However, the messy preparations, the bitter taste and the grittiness on the palate can often be a deterrent.
Nutrifiz combines all the goodness of organically-sourced fresh wheatgrass with a convenient, affordable and delicious tablet which can be taken on the go and takes just 60 seconds to prepare. Just add water.
Is Nutrifiz suitable for diabetics?
We do not recommend Nutrifiz for diabetics due to the nature of the product. Nutrifiz is unable to make a claim for suitability for diabetics as medical claims or suitability for a medical condition cannot be made on a food supplement. Nutrifiz does contain very small amounts of sucrose and glucose syrup (less than 0.5mg total) which are within the vitamin A, D3 and K1 preparations of the formulation. Additionally, the natural lemon flavouring contains natural sugar directly from lemons.
What is the salt content of Nutrifiz?
The salt content of each Nutrifiz tablet is 0g as we do not use sodium hydrogen carbonate. Instead we use potassium bicarbonate for fizz and to reach the required potassium levels.
How many calories are there in a Nutrifiz tablet?
The energy content of Nutrifiz is 6.3 kcal / 27 kJ per tablet.
Does Nutrifiz contain gluten or lactose?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that each tablet is gluten or lactose free. In order to keep our costs low, we are unable to test every batch of Nutrifiz for the presence of gluten or lactose. If you are in any doubt, we do not recommend consumption of Nutrifiz due to potential trace amounts.
Is Nutrifiz wheatgrass suitable for vegans?
Nutrifiz is not suitable for vegans due to the vitamin D3 being derived from lanolin which in turn comes from sheeps’ wool.
Is Nutrifiz suitable for children?
Nutrifiz is suitable for children aged 12 and over. However, we will be introducing Nutrifiz for Kids in early 2015 with lower nutritional reference values and increased vitamin D, essential for the growth and development of bones in children.
Can I use Nutrifiz during pregnancy or when breast-feeding?
Although we have had no reports of any safety issues by pregnant or breast-feeding women taking Nutrifiz, we do not recommend consumption during these times. Due to the quantities of vitamin A, we would always advise speaking to your GP, midwife or pharmacist before considering taking any supplements when pregnant or breast-feeding.
Can I take more than one tablet a day?
We recommend taking one tablet per day. Exceeding this may be harmful.
Is Nutrifiz wheatgrass suitable for vegetarians?
Yes. Nutrifiz wheatgrass effervescent tablets are suitable for those on a vegetarian diet.
Is it normal that Nutrifiz has changed the colour of my urine?
Nutrifiz contain 100% NRV of vitamin B2 (riboflavin) which can increase the intensity of the colour of your urine following consumption. This is simply due to B vitamins being water-soluble so if your body does not need as much, it will be passed out in your urine.
What is the Nutrient Reference Value (NRV)?
Nutrient Reference Values are similar to recommended daily amounts in that they are daily reference levels shown to be adequate for an average person to prevent vitamin or mineral deficiencies which may result in associated diseases.
What causes the frothy head on my Nutrifiz drink?
Whether you take wheatgrass as a freshly squeezed juice or in powder form, a frothy head will appear. When you see the same frothy head on your Nutrifiz drink, you know you’re getting the real thing.
The foam in your Nutrifiz is caused by plant-based compounds (phytonutrients) called saponins. At first, you may wish to remove the foam using a spoon but pause for thought because saponins may have beneficial effects on cholesterol, cancer, bone health, and the immune system.
How often should I take effervescent Nutrifiz?
Nutrifiz was created to provide a great source of nutrition with wheatgrass and added vitamins and minerals. However, it should not be used to replace a healthy, balanced diet. We recommend a maximum daily dose of one tablet per day due to the high vitamin and mineral content.
